Mike du Jour: Six Days

Political violence has become something no one thought would be as predictable as the weather report. But it has. Openly wishing for the expiration of another human being / elected official was once unthinkable. Now it’s an occasion to set up your phone and video tape your turquoise haired self in hopes of waking to news of murder. What happened? I’ve been walking down this road for six days and surprise -it’s not imaginary anymore. And when there is a lull in these sick fever dreams we get them manufactured -a piece of string that looks like a noose was found on a typewriter or a NACAR garage door (both true) or the second coming of Tawana Brawley aka Juicy Smollet (he’s still never done a day in prison) and none of this comes from the right.
